If you can draw it, you can quilt it...

I have a feeling this will prove not to be true, but I have been doodling hearts since I was a little girl. My hands know.the motion, so quilting them should come easily, right?
Here are two heart based designs I doodle at lunch. Which should I try to quilt?  I think maybe the stacks will be really hard...but I worry I'll loose the echo on the other design too fast, so it won't show up well...

I like the second one. It sseems like it would be more forgiving, but that's an opinion with no experience to back it up.

I too have thought "if you can draw it, you can quilt it" but I'm also convinced that I'm going to have to use chalk or a fabric pen to mark out my quilting pattern and then trace it.

Not to discourage you- but tracing is kind of hard... It is difficult to make the needle go exactly where you want it to go! Being a bit more "free" is helpful.
